Egg Yolk Moisturising Masque for Dry Hair

This recipe makes enough masque for shoulder-length hair. Double or triple the recipe for longer or thicker hair. Coconut oil can also be used, but be mindful that it has to be heated and it will solidify in your hair in colder weather, as will the yolk, but I am a little wary of pouring coconut oil down the drain.

Ingredients

  • For the Egg Yolk Masque:
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 4 tablespoons macadamia or olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice

Instructions

  • Mix all ingredients together in a small bowl. Brush hair and using your fingertips apply the masque to the end 2-3 inches of your hair. Tie into a loose bun and leave for 30 minutes - your hair will go really stiff, that's okay.
  • Rinse well under warm running water. You can shampoo and conditioner as usual before drying and styling.
